To Beach Or Not To Beach?

So you and your boo are planning a romantic getaway to the beautiful islands of the Bahamas, but you want a real experience. An authentic one. Not the "touristy" ones where you're going to spend money out the wazoo. But one where the locals go: Safe. Clean. Local. Fun.

Don't worry, I got you.

Now this is my very first blog that I'm writing. So forgive me for grammatical errors and probably one or two misspelled words. But stick with me until the end and your trip to the Bahamas will be one you'll never forget.

First things first. If this is a romantic getaway, you're gonna want to make sure you have everything you need to make your baecation island spicy! You know what I mean...blindfolds, lubricants, bondage, games....toys, yeah that. So when you vacation in Paradise you will need to shop Couple's Paradise the #1 Bahamian store for all of your romantic needs.

Now let's talk turkey. I'm going to give you my playbook for all of the local spots that I use whenever I have a date night. Feel free to steal my ideas.

Romance In Paradise: Top Things to for Couples To Do When Visiting Nassau, Bahamas

  • Swimming With The Pigs - I know I said local stuff, and trust me we will give you some local options, but I have to mention Swimming With The Pigs as a must do experience when visiting Nassau. It combines all of the natural elements that make the Bahamas one of the top tourist destinations in the world. Firstly, you get to visit a private island that's surrounded by the beach. The water is crystal clear and the weather is almost always perfect (Imagine a swimming pool, but it's actual salt water). You also get to experience feeding pigs, iguanas, and they even let you wrangle with a shark. How's that for an authentic island experience.

  • Conch Salad - It's pronounced "konk" salad and it's also a must have. It's the simple things in life that makes island living different from the every day hustle and bustle of city living. And conch salad is as simple as it gets. A local cuisine that's prepared from scratch and takes less than 10 minutes to make. Made for two, this is the perfect mid day or late night snack for you both to enjoy. I love taking my wife out to Arawak Cay at the fish fry by "Rasta", he makes the best conch salad on the island, hands down!

  • Game Zone at Bahamar - Okay, okay I love video games, but hear me out, they're a lot of fun. And if you're lucky like me, your partner will love it too. One of my first dates, well kind of. It didn't start off there. We went for a late lunch, got bored and then I had the bright idea of looking for an arcade. Fun fact, there aren't a whole lot of arcades on the island, there are actually only two that I can think of. But I'm sure glad I chose this one because it was a night to remember (and not only because this was where we had our first kiss). We played Walking Dead, Need for Speed, Live Hungry Hungry Hippos, Basketball Hoops, and a ton of other games. So if you want a different kind of island experience, I highly recommend Game Zone.

  • Plantation Bar and Restaurant - You said you wanted a local spot right? Well plantation is definitely it! Great food, better drinks and a lively atmosphere filled with locals. Plantation is found on the Cable Beach strip right next to the Caves Village. It's also budget friendly as the average drink costs around $12 (compared to $20 at the hotels and "tourists spots").

  • Graycliff Hotel & Restaurant - So nice I had to do it twice (well more than that but the rhyme sounds better). If you want an unforgettable experience, Graycliff has several. Cigar rolling, chocolate making, and wine making - three separate activities, all fun! And yes I did all three activities. My favorite you ask? Making wine of course. I got drunk during the course, after the course, and the next day when I opened the wine bottle we made at the course. But the other two activities are pretty great as well. Each activity took place at different times, and each time we created a memory that I will never forget. But if you can't do all three on the first visit, I will definitely recommend the wine making course.

  • Jokers Wild - A secret spot of mines. Most locals don't know about this little gem...and I'd like to keep it that way (lol I'm kidding) (lol not really!). Jokers Wild is a comedy club over at the Atlantis resort. They bring in international comedians each week to headline, and it's hosted by local comedians. It's a nice and cozy intimate environment...for you to get picked on. Lol not really, the comedians don't really pick on you, but sometimes it can get a little intense in there. Side note, be sure to eat before you go, there is no food served at the show, and if there was Atlantis food is not budget friendly.

  • Self-Drive Vehicles - Another one of my favorites. There are a lot of vehicles you can self-drive here in Nassau - Bicycles, Cars, ATVs, Scooters, Jet-Skis, Boats and even a bar. Yup you read that last one right. You can even self drive a bar. Now I wouldn't recommend you and your partner do that one by yourselves, but definitely in a group.

Welp! That's the end of my list for now. There are endless opportunities for romance and adventure, making Nassau the perfect destination for couples in love. Whether you're seeking relaxation, adventure, or simply quality time together, be sure to create unforgettable moments that will strengthen your bond and leave you longing to return to this tropical paradise.

And remember, when in Paradise shop CouplesParadiseBs.com to turn your trip into a romantic bliss.
